Upper East Side
The Upper East Side is recognized as one of the most affluent and established residential neighborhoods in Manhattan. It is made up of brownstones, pre-war buildings and high-rise apartments. In addition, this area is home to Manhattan’s most popular museums, elite private schools, and luxury boutiques. It is also within immediate proximity to Central Park.
Icon’s rental apartments are situated in residential neighborhoods with tree-lined streets and are surrounded by low-rise townhouses and apartment buildings. The main retail thoroughfares are the avenues to the east and west. Local amenities including restaurants, convenience stores, and retail are within immediate proximity.
Notable medical centers in the area include: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Gracie Square Hospital; all are within immediate proximity of the subject.
There are 13 public and 55 private and parochial schools for grades K-12 in the Upper East Side. Colleges in the area include Hunter College, Marymount Manhattan College, Cornell University Medical Center and Rockefeller University.
The Upper East Side is also well-served by transportation. The FDR drive is accessible three blocks away, and the cross-town bus and local subway service is located within blocks.
